Most property owners don’t realize that fire/smoke damage is carcinogenic and toxic. The airborne ash and fumes contribute significantly to lung cancer, respiratory illness, and worse. The cheaper route of hiring cleaning companies or Restoration companies exposes property owners AND workers to substantial risk as they have no experience in actual Hazardous Waste abatement.

Instead, we’ll cordon off the area with an exclusion zone, don full-face respirators or supplied air, use HEPA vacuums and negative pressure/air scrubbers to completely decontaminate ash/soot and fire until the property is safe for trespass. Soda-blasting, “Thermal Fogging,” and other methods may help remove soot buildup without destroying underlying surface material. Then we’ll apply Ozone and Hydroxyl treatments to contain the smoke odor until the space is safe and habitable for further restoration by us or by another company of your choice now that the genuine HAZMAT has been removed for them to work in. We also do property boardups. We are certified Odor Removal and Control Technicians via Restore360 Corporation.

We also clean up “Fire Retardant” chemicals, foams, and powders from Fire Departments and aircraft, including Phos-Chek (the pink powder) that is often used to combat wild fires but has expressed concerns of long-term health, lung, and environmental impacts.

As part of our work with the California Wildfire Disaster Zone, we also do Water Quality clearance testing for boil water advisory alerts to ensure your water is safe for human consumption. We also do Soil Sampling and Surface Wipe testing to survey ash/soot for lead, asbestos, heavy metal, and mercury content in your soil or on your property for all fire debris combustion byproducts, including Mercury, Lead, Asbestos, heavy metals, and more. The results will be delivered to a 3rd-party lab and we will provide a certified engineer’s report to you.

Don’t fall for Restoration Companies. California does not even require contractors licenses for Restoration and they benefit from gouging insurance and ripping out your walls. Ash/Soot also leaves hydrochloric acid and even lead and mercury residue which corrodes metal surfaces and off-gases in your house. Will you trust Restoration guys or HAZMAT chemists?

Restoration guys also do not have our 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certifications, OSHA Bloodborne-Pathogen certifications that give you the assurance that our men can tackle whatever difficult situation you might encounter. Look past their unofficial IICRC “certifications” and look to the professionals with full Public Works and Federal contracting licenses to tackle private properties, commercial properties, military and government installations, prisons, hospitals, and more.
